"Pre-Pare" Yourself For "Palm-Station" Gaming!

KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!

Uh, that'd be smartphone homebrewer ZodTTD.  Not content to get his Playstation and GameBoy emulators running on a cracked iPhone 3GS, the Z-man has worked his magic on the new kid on the block, the Palm Pre.  As per the above video, Zod's Pre is running the Wipeout game courtesy of his psx4all emulator.  More impressive: he seems to have lapped even the Dev-Team in "rooting"/jailbreaking Sprint's pride and joy.

Game On! PlayStation And GameBoy Emulators Demoed For iPhone 3GS

6-25-09psx4iphone

Some people are so eager to take advantage of the extra power of the iPhone 3GS, they're not even waiting for the "official" jailbreaks.

ZodTTD posted the following video, demonstrating a Sony Playstation 1 emulator.  He writes "It’s at the point where Final Fantasy 7 is fullspeed at very least without sound. The build is rough around the edges, as you can’t switch games without restarting the emulator, and only memory card saves are currently working, no save states just yet. Both these issues are being worked on."

Video after the break.

Mystique: First Android-To-iPhone Game Port

Mystique_3

Bendroid are quite proud of their Android-based horror game "Mystique."  So proud of it, in fact, that they decided to let iPhone users in on the fun.

Many companies or developers who gained success with their games/applications on iPhone market were trying to take their niche on Android. The most popular and famous iPhone applications were ported to Android and now they are among the top downloaded applications...But what if we take Android application/game, that is rather popular and successful, and port IT to iPhone?

Seemingly aimed squarely at the SILENT HILL crowd, the creepy, immersive-3D game -- which begins with the player finding themselves in a dark, filthy bathroom with a blood-filled tub and a ghostly girls appearing and disappearing -- is being released one chapter at a time; the ported Chapter One ("The Foetus") is out now, and Chapter Two ("The Child") will hit the Android market next week.

Not sufficiently creeped out yet?  Let this video of the Android app put a chill in your heart:

Phone Me Up, Scotty: STAR TREK Movie Tie-In App

Scrn_iphone_startrek_01 Scrn_iphone_startrek_02

iPhones: the final frontier...

As if you Trekkies didn't spend enough galactic credits on the re-imagined STAR TREK movie (over US$72 million in its opening weekend), Electronic Arts would like to transport another three bucks out of your wallets.

Star Trek: The Mobile Game puts your iPhone or iPod Touch behind the wheel -- or should we say, "on the bridge" -- of the starship ENTERPRISE to, as per EA's hype, "carry out missions to uphold your intergalactic obligation to seek and destroy your enemies."  Navigation is accomplished through the accelerometer, the virtual joystick, or touching the screen (the latter is also used to phaser and torpedo "enemy wessels," to borrow a maloprop from Ensign Chekhov).

Unlike the movie, which has gotten extremely positive reviews, the app's reviews are a mixed bag: some users love it, others complain about crashes, long load times, and tiny onscreen fonts.  A common complaint is "It's like Galaga, only not as much fun."

So it's your command decision as to whether you want to go where no man has...aaah, you know the rest.
