The VNC application was available for jailbroken iPhones, and we were surprised that it wasn't in the app store at launch. Regardless, here it is. The application allows you to remotely connect to your desktop computer from your iPhone.

The VNC Lite Menu - edit connections, get help, and read about section. The "Edit Connections" will be the only button that concerns you.

The VNC Lite Connection Settings - just enter your IP address, VNC server port, and password, and you're good to go.

Here's VNC Lite in action - our iPhone is connected to our PC.

Here's our iPhone connected to our Mac. The warning logo is simply saying that the high resolution of our Mac isn't supported by the iPhone, so it shrinks the screen to the max size. Not a problem - just press OK.

• Simple interface
• Enough functionality to get by if you need an urgent remote connection
• It took no time at all to configure the application and connect to both PC and MAC (note: both computers already had VNC configured)
• Information is well integrated between multiple features of the application
• Extensive Help menu

• There are a few annoying bugs with the saved connections (they sometimes disappear)
• Support for QWERTY keyboard only
• No support for macros
• The screen took a while to load after connecting to a Mac, so we had to manually click refresh for the screen to change. On the other hand, we didn't have time to optimize the screen setting for a better connection
• When switiching to mouse control, the cursor is not very responsive
• Your computer needs to be unlocked in order to connect to Mocha VNC Lite, otherwise the connection will be refused

The Mocha VNC Pro version will be out soon for $5.99 with additional keyboard support and macro support.

Although MobileMe started out with nothing but bugs, Apple has finally debugged the program and all it's applications and the little bugger is good to go. And as a courtesy to all .Mac users, Apple has sent out the above apology letter stating that although the beginning was rocky, everything's now up and running.
