Apple Admits To Problems With Mobile Me

Ah, launch day. Apple's having nothin' but fun today.

On top of the problems with the activation of the iPhone 3G, Mobile Me has succesfully been classified as a failure. They've been on a Mobile Me roller coaster ride since Wednesday night, and things have only gotten worse.

iPhone 3G Unboxing and Side By Side Comparison

Unboxing the iPhone 3G (Plus AT&T Buying Experience)

We've been chased by the mall security guard.

We waited in line.

We waited some more.

And some more.

We bought an iPhone 3G!

We got to the mall around 6 AM. The line started to form around 7 AM, we were inside the store around 8:05 AM,  and we had our iPhone at 8:20 AM.

The line was only 50 people long and everything was very well organized by AT&T.  They talked to customers, gave out water bottles, and answered various upgrade questions.  We've seen AT&T employees helping customers before they walk into the store in order to smooth the transaction.

The iPhone 3G is in the process of being activated.  AT&T employees use iTunes to active iPhones.  It took several minutes for the phone to become active since in our case we were transferring the SIM card from another phone.

Yes, we hid our iPhones in a paper bag from McDonalds.  Security is a priority :-)

The device feels lighter and is very comfortable to hold.  The back is plastic, so if you got the black iPhone get ready for smudge heaven. The back of our iPhone got nasty instantly. Enjoy wiping the smudges off of both sides from now on.

We will provide a more detailed review later on.
