Spain has just enstated two new taxes starting July 1st:

  1. $4.90 tax on electronic devices capable of recording, copying or storing sound or images
  2. $1.70 tax on all mobile phones with integrated MP3 music capabilities

Pedro Farre, an official, said “We are satisfied that this ministerial order has been approved after so much delay, and we now hope the manufacturers will pay the canon. Technically, the manufacturers pay the canon - whether they pass the cost on to the public is their decision.”

Well well well. Looks like Apple and AT&T aren't the only ones trying to profit from the iPhone 3G. Way to cash in Spain.

By the way, you just lost all your class.
